We have spent more than two decades teaching adults in Baqueira. Beginners making their first turns. Intermediates leaving the snowplough behind and discovering the resort. Experienced skiers refining their carving, or shedding their fear of harder snow and steeper ground.
What they share: a qualified instructor matched to their level and goals, working solely for them, without a group and without distraction, for every minute of the lesson.
Teaching an adult to ski is not the same as teaching a child. Every adult brings their own history with snow: particular blocks, a particular level of fitness, their own fears and their own goals. A generic approach does not work.
In each lesson we work out exactly where you are: what already works in your skiing, what is holding you back, and what has to change for you to progress. We do not follow a script. We follow the person.
Your instructor is with you from the moment you click into your skis until you take them off. Their attention is not divided. All of the lesson is yours.
In skiing, a fault is corrected as it happens or it is not corrected at all. With an instructor to yourself, the correction is immediate, specific and effective. That is how technique really beds in — and the progression adapts to what you need at that moment.
With video analysis on the slope, and Carv for more experienced skiers, we can quantify your improvement in real time: pressure, symmetry, progression, balance, turn timing. Objective data that makes visible what used to be only a feeling.
If you have never skied, or have not skied for many years, we start with the essentials and take our time: how to fasten your boots properly, managing balance, using the magic carpet and the beginners' lift, braking in a snowplough under control, and making your first turns feeling good about them. Your age does not matter to us. What matters is that you finish that first session wanting to come back tomorrow.
You ski blue runs and the odd easy red, but something is not quite working. Perhaps you lack fluency, repeat the same mistakes without knowing why, or force your turns more than you need to.
We work on the outside ski, the transition from snowplough to parallel, using the pole intelligently, reading the terrain and managing rhythm across different snow types. The aim is not only that you ski better: it is that you understand why you ski better.
For skiers already comfortable on red and black runs who want to go further. Technical carving with changing radii, short turns at speed, handling difficult conditions — ice, spring snow, fog — and controlled off-piste in areas such as Banhiblar, Baciver, Saumet, Dossau or Peülla.
At this level we also work on efficiency: the technique that lets you ski longer with less fatigue, a cleaner transition and edge change, intelligent pole use, and adapting to different turn radii.
Many adults come back to skiing after an ACL rupture, a fracture, or a fall that left its mark. We work through that with patience and a specific method: gentle pistes, speed built up gradually, exercises to rebuild confidence, and no hurry at all.

The Alpine Ski Academy team holds official sports qualifications — TD1, TD2 and TD3 — and averages more than 15 seasons teaching in Baqueira Beret.
Víctor Puche, Technical Director and TD3, trains instructors at SAFE and INEFC Lleida and has worked with leading brands such as Rossignol, Dynastar and Briko for more than 10 years. Skiing with Alpine does not just get you an instructor: it gets you a technical standard few schools in the resort can offer.

"After many years without a ski instructor, my week with Víctor was one of the best experiences I have had. I rediscovered my love of skiing and improved more than ever before."
"An excellent instructor, and flexible about lesson times. One of the best teachers we have had."
Yes. We regularly teach adults starting at 40, 50 or past 60. The pace of learning differs from a child's, but with an instructor to yourself the results are quick and consistent. The key is adapting the method to your body, your appetite for risk and your goals.
It depends on where you start and how many days you have. A complete beginner usually handles green runs by the end of the first day and gentle blues by the third or fourth. Private lessons speed that up, because there is no waiting and no adapting to a group.
Yes. Returning to skiing after an injury — an ACL rupture in particular — needs controlled progression, carefully chosen runs and an instructor who understands your physical limits at each moment. We do not push. We guide.
It depends on your level. For beginners and intermediates we always look for the runs in the best condition. For advanced skiers, difficult conditions are part of the training. The Pyrenees give real powder several weeks a year — knowing how to ski it makes a difference.
Our rates start at €60/hour. See all prices and packages on our rates page. You can also message us on WhatsApp for a quote based on your dates and goals.

Yes. Lessons for two keep the private format — one instructor for both of you — and work well when your levels are similar. If there is a marked difference, we recommend separate sessions so each of you progresses as much as possible.

An instructor to yourself. No group. Nothing improvised. Just you, the instructor and the slope.
When the lesson ends, you will not want the day to.
