Snowboard lessons in Baqueira Beret for every age and level. From your first run down to freestyle, with qualified instructors. Snowboarding is not learned by reading tutorials. It is learned by riding, falling, understanding balance and glide, feeling the board and, above all, having someone beside you who has been doing it for more than twenty years and knows how to pass it on. At Alpine Ski Academy our snowboard instructor team in Baqueira Beret combines official TD1 and TD2 qualifications, decades of real experience on a board and a passion for teaching that shows from the first run. Whether it is the first time you have stood on a board or you want to take your riding to the next level on piste, in powder or in the snowpark, here you will find the instructor and the lesson format you need.
At Alpine Ski Academy, snowboarding is taught by TD1 and TD2 qualified instructors who have spent their lives on a board — teaching hundreds of recreational riders and club members, and still riding Baqueira every season, because this is not a seasonal job to them. It is what they do.
It shows in how they read the terrain, how they spot a technical fault before the rider feels it themselves, and how they adjust their language and exercises to the person in front of them. Teaching a six-year-old is nothing like teaching an adult who has skied for ten seasons and wants to switch to a board. Our team knows the difference and works accordingly.
Every Alpine Ski Academy snowboard instructor holds an official TD1 or TD2 qualification. They are not keen amateurs teaching informally. They are professionals who have been through formal technical training and who keep their teaching method current. For the rider that means faster progress, fewer bad habits and a safer experience from day one.
After two decades in the resort, our instructors know Baqueira Beret as few do: which areas suit learning, where the best powder sits after a fall, which runs let you work on carving away from the crowds, and how to use the Era Marmota snowpark at each rider's level. No qualification gives you that local knowledge, and it makes a real difference to every lesson.

We organise snowboard lessons by rider profile and level, not by which slot happens to be free. The point is that everyone is always in the setting that suits their learning best.
We recommend starting on a board from age 5 or 6, when coordination and balance are far enough along to work through the fundamentals progressively and enjoyably. Our approach with children puts confidence ahead of speed: first they feel safe and comfortable on the board, then they turn, then they ride down on their own. Each step at their pace, through play, with a great deal of technical patience.
Protective equipment is compulsory for the youngest riders: helmet, back protector and impact shorts with coccyx protection. If they do not have their own, there are specialist rental shops in Baqueira. We can advise on what to hire if you ask before you come.
For adults who have never stood on a board: you will learn stance, edge control, stopping, basic turns and how to use the lifts, all somewhere calm and without pressure. The aim of the first day is not to ride fast. It is to ride in control, and to want to come back.
For adults with a base who want to improve: we work on carving, riding switch, powder, the Era Marmota snowpark, or any specific technical point you want to develop. We assess your starting level at the beginning and adjust each session according to how you actually ride.
For groups of up to 4 we apply private lesson rates. From 5 people we run the group with a dedicated instructor and a programme pitched at the level most of the group share. If the group's levels vary, we recommend sending us a short video on WhatsApp beforehand so we can assign the right instructor and, if needed, split the group. For larger groups or companies, see our page on ski lessons for groups and companies in Baqueira.
A private snowboard lesson is the most effective option when you want to progress quickly, break through a specific technical block, or simply have the instructor focused entirely on you. All of the session's time, all of the instructor's attention and all of its content are built around you alone.
Private snowboard lessons are booked by the hour. You can take anything from a single 2-hour session to a multi-day programme. Check availability and prices in our section on ski and snowboard lesson rates in Baqueira.
We confirm the exact meeting point when the booking is made, based on the rider's level and how the day is running. The usual areas are Baqueira 1500, Baqueira 1800, Ruda and Tanau. If you have a preference or any access constraint, tell us when you book and we will find the most convenient spot.
If you are unsure what to hire or buy before you come, ask us on WhatsApp. With more than two decades in the resort we will tell you, with no obligation, what is actually worth it.
If you are coming as an existing group, we ask for a short video of 30 to 60 seconds showing everyone's current level, or a description of it. That lets us assign the right instructor, judge whether the group is well matched or needs splitting, and plan the session with specific technical goals from the first minute.

We have been teaching snowboarding in Baqueira Beret for more than two decades. Here is what some of the people who have been through our lessons say.
First time on a board: snowboarding has a steeper initial learning curve than skiing. Starting with an instructor to yourself cuts out early mistakes and speeds up progress.
Snowboard instructor availability is limited, particularly in high season. If you have dates in mind, do not wait — book now and secure your instructor.
We recommend from age 5 or 6. By then coordination and balance are developed enough to work through the fundamentals progressively and safely. For younger children we assess case by case. Ask us if your child is under 5 and you would like us to take a look.
It depends on the person and what they want. Snowboarding has a somewhat steeper start than skiing in the first days: falls are more frequent early on. From the third or fourth day progress usually accelerates sharply. If the board is what you want, start on the board. There is no need to go through skiing first.
A helmet is compulsory for everyone. For children we add a back protector (compulsory) and strongly recommend impact shorts with coccyx protection. For adult beginners we also recommend both: backward falls are common in the first days and the coccyx is the most exposed point. Snowboard-specific goggles are strongly recommended for vision and eye protection.
Yes. There are specialist shops in Baqueira Beret hiring boards, boots, bindings and protection. If you want advice on what to hire, or which brands suit your level, ask us before you come. With more than twenty years in the resort we will advise with no obligation.
Yes, as long as the numbers in each discipline allow us to assign a specialist instructor to each — or if you are happy to ride together with an instructor from the other discipline. If you are a mixed group, some on boards and some on skis, tell us when you book and we will organise it.
The Era Marmota snowpark is the main freestyle area in Baqueira Beret. We work there with riders who already have a solid technical base. If the snowpark is your goal, say so when you book, so the instructor we assign has specific experience on that terrain.
