Ski Lessons With Carv in Baqueira

Want to improve your skiing with objective data and the analysis of one of the best-ranked instructors in the world? We combine more than 20 years of technical experience in Baqueira with Carv — the most advanced biomechanical analysis system available — so you understand exactly how you ski and what has to change for the next step.
With sensors in your boots we measure, in real time, how progressively you edge, your angulation, symmetry, transition times and the G-forces of every turn, among other metrics. The result: specific improvements, measured and visible from the first session.

Why Alpine

The Rankings Behind Every Lesson: What the Data Says About Our Level

Discipline Spain ranking World Ranking
Overall IQ 1st (overall leader, IQ 170) 38th
Short turn 1st 9th
Moguls 1st 73rd
Off-piste 1st 68th
Carving (all ages) 4th 94th

This is not a marketing claim. The data is public, verifiable and current for the 2026–2027 season. Carv ranks instructors nationally and internationally across four disciplines plus an overall classification. These are the results of Víctor Puche Fita, TD3 technical director of Alpine Ski Academy: first in Spain in the Carv short-turn ranking, first in moguls, and first off-piste. His Carv IQ of 170 is the highest recorded in Spain, placing him 9th in the world for skiers over 30 and 38th in the overall world ranking. In technical carving he is 4th nationally. The data is public and verifiable on the official Carv leaderboard, 2025-26 season:

Every lesson with Alpine Ski Academy is, quite literally, a session with the most measured and highest-ranked instructor in Spain. No other school in Baqueira can offer that.

Our approach

Why Lessons With Carv Are Different

Carv is not a gadget. It is the most precise biomechanical analysis system available for alpine skiing. Combine it with an instructor who uses it at world-elite level and the difference from a conventional technical lesson is of another order.

Real-Time Data on Every Turn

The Carv sensors, fitted in your boots, measure pressure distribution under the foot, angulation, symmetry between right and left leg, transition times between turns, and the G-forces generated — all in real time. Nothing is estimated: there is concrete data for every turn.

Professional Feedback, Interpreted at Elite Level

Ideal for Technical Carving, Refinement and Exam Preparation

Carv lessons in Baqueira are built for intermediate-to-advanced skiers who want to progress methodically. They are also the most effective resource for TD1 candidates, trainee instructors, amateur racers, and anyone who wants to understand their skiing from technical evidence.

Video Plus Metrics: The Most Powerful Comparison There Is

We pair Carv analysis with video coaching. Watching yourself ski while reading your own data closes the gap between what you feel and what actually happens. At the end of the session you get full access to your metrics, graphs and progression, so you can review and keep improving away from the mountain.

Why Alpine

Who Are Private Carv Lessons in Baqueira For?

This is not a lesson for everyone. It is built for a particular skier: the demanding one who wants to move from "I think I'm improving" to "I can prove it with data". If any of these sound like you, you are in the right place.

Advanced skiers

You want cleaner, more efficient, more powerful turns. Carv gives you the exact numbers on angulation, edging and symmetry to get there.

Perfectionists and analytical skiers

You analyse your skiing, you film it, you ask questions. This lesson takes you from intuition to evidence. Real data for real improvement.

TD1 candidates / instructors

Carv is the most precise technical assessment tool for preparing official TD1 exams, camps and instructor training.

Carv users without expert guidance

You have Carv but are not getting the most from the data. With us you will learn to read and apply the metrics with real judgement.

What Carv Measures in Each Session: The Metrics That Change Your Skiing

During a Carv lesson in Baqueira the system analyses, in real time, a set of variables no human eye can register with the same precision or speed:

In Víctor's hands each metric becomes a specific correction and a specific exercise. Not "bend your knees more", but "your heel pressure entering the turn is at 68%, we need it at 50–55% by engaging the ankle". That precise.

  • Pressure distribution under the foot Angulation and edge angle per turn
  • G-forces generated per turn Initiation, middle and completion phases of the turn
  • Right / left symmetry Transition times between turns

Alpine Ski Academy: A World Reference in Teaching With Carv

Since the 23-24 season we have been one of the first schools in Spain to use Carv actively in private lessons — not as an accessory, but as the central tool for analysis and progression. Today that integration runs at the highest technical level available.

Víctor Puche · TD3 · Demonstrator · SAFE and INEFC trainer · Carv IQ 170 · Rossignol-Dynastar-Briko athlete

With 24 years of experience in Baqueira, Víctor is a TD3 technician (the highest alpine skiing qualification in Spain), a demonstrator, a trainer at SAFE and on the INEFC Lleida ski master's programme, a brand athlete for Rossignol, Dynastar and Briko for over 10 years, and the instructor with the highest Carv IQ in Spain for the 2026-27 season. These are not generic credentials: this is the most complete technical record in the resort.

What You Leave the Session With

  • A detailed report of your Carv metrics from the session
  • A clear technical diagnosis: what is wrong, why, and how to fix it
  • Two or three specific exercises to keep improving on your own
  • Video of your skiing (if that option is taken) for comparison
  • Access to your graphs and progress in the app, to review later
Frequently asked questions

We answer your questions

Who Are Private Carv Lessons in Baqueira For?

This is not a lesson for everyone. It is built for a particular skier: the demanding one who wants to move from "I think I'm improving" to "I can prove it with data". If any of these sound like you, you are in the right place.

Do I need my own Carv sensor to take the lesson?

No. We provide the Carv sensor for the whole session and fit it directly in your boots, which are compatible without exception. If you already own a Carv, the session is stronger still: we work with your data history and configure the settings to get the most from the analysis.

Is this lesson only for advanced skiers?

Mainly, yes. Carv delivers most from intermediate-advanced level upwards, once there is a technical base to analyse and refine. For beginners and early levels we recommend starting with our standard private lessons and adding Carv once the fundamentals are solid.

What is the difference between a conventional technical lesson and a Carv lesson?

A conventional lesson rests on the instructor's observation and visual judgement. A Carv lesson adds objective data the human eye cannot register: exact symmetry between turns, pressure to the millimetre at each phase, how G-forces develop. The result is a technical diagnosis of unprecedented precision, and corrections that land on the next turn rather than next season.

Can it be combined with video analysis?

Yes. Video coaching is the perfect complement to Carv. Seeing your skiing from outside while reading what the sensors recorded on those same turns removes the gap between perception and reality. It is the most powerful way to accelerate technical improvement.

Where in Baqueira do the Carv lessons take place?

We match the area to each skier's level and goal. For short-turn analysis and technical carving we use the runs whose grooming, aspect, gradient and snow quality suit that level. For off-piste and mogul work we choose the best terrain for the day's conditions. We know Baqueira inch by inch: you are always in the right place for what you are working on.

Who is the best ski instructor in Baqueira according to the Carv rankings?

Víctor Puche Fita, a TD3 instructor in Baqueira Beret, leads the overall Carv ranking in Spain with an IQ of 170 — 1st in short turns, moguls and off-piste, and 4th in carving. Worldwide he is 27th overall and 9th in the over-30 category for short turns.

What does the Carv ranking measure, and why does it matter?

Carv is a sensor system that measures skiing technique objectively and in real time, producing a score (IQ) that can be compared between skiers and instructors. Unlike a qualification, it is a continuous, public measure of current technical level.
